Low Pressure or High Pressure Fiction vs Fact

• FICTION: High pressure washing is the best and only way to clean the outside of your home.
• FACT: Low pressure washing and gentle environmentally friendly cleaners are the correct and responsible way to clean the exterior of your house.
• FICTION: You do not need to worry about water damage from high pressure direct washing, water can’t get behind the siding and into your walls.
• FACT: When water gets behind the siding due to improper power washing, it may not be able to escape again, creating a mildew situation underneath of it, which is unhealthy for your family and home.
• FICTION: You should get very close to the siding when you wash, and go over and over it with a very small tip.
• FACT: High pressure should not be applied directly to the surface as damage may result. The correct angle, distance, amount of water flow and reduction of pressure are extremely important when correctly washing any house.
• FICTION: Straight bleach will not harm the house.
• FACT: Bleach in the correct concentration and amount is only one of the component of a properly executed house wash. Bleach alone in the incorrect strength can oxidize the surface, leaving it chalky, and can actually promote the regrowth of mildew and algae.
